Getting beyond disappointment

Life will disappoint you on a regular basis, in ways that are big and small. The way to get beyond each disappointment is to get busy doing something positive and meaningful.  It’s easy to get caught up in assigning blame, or speculating on how things might have been different, or feeling anger and resentment. None of those things, however, will add any value to your life. Choose instead to let the disappointment make you stronger and more positively determined. Acknowledge it, and then step forward from it with productive and meaningful action.

It Aint Always Easy

We often hear sayings like, “Favor aint fair.”  Pastor C.D. Wallace often says, “Its hell living for JESUS but its hell living without him.” I know firsthand that life is not easy.  But then, it doesn’t really have to be easy to be great the bible tells us so.  A meaningful god filled life is never easy. And yet, as difficult as it is, that achievement will bring great satisfaction, value and inspiration to your life.  Having a relationship with God is not easy.  But, that relationship can bring immense happiness to every aspect of your existence.

Life will disappoint you on a regular basis, in ways that are big and small. The way to get beyond each disappointment is to get busy doing something positive and meaningful. Choose instead to let the disappointment make you stronger and more positively determined. Acknowledge it, and then step forward from it with productive and meaningful action. When you feel like indulging in self-pity, take that as a prompt to break free from the negative pattern. Use it as an opportunity to initiate an improvement in your world. Disappointment is a fact of life, but it never has to weigh you down for very long. You can always decide to focus on the positive possibilities in the present moment instead of the shortcomings in the past. Make the smart choice, and live by intention rather than by chance. Whatever may happen, use it as a starting point for making life better.

F A I T H

Faith is not belief. Belief is passive. Faith is active. -- Edith Hamilton
When some things go wrong, take a moment to be thankful for the many more things that are still going right. To find a sure and dependable way through your troubles, start by counting your blessings. Focus on what you can do and you won’t have to be held back by what you cannot do. Value and appreciate what you do have, and you will no longer be limited by what you don’t have.True abundance begins with gratitude. The more thankful you are for the good things you have, the more they will grow to have even greater value.

Really????

Proverbs 28:1
The wicked flee when no one is pursuing,But the righteous are bold as a lion.
Here’s a test to determine whether you are truly committed to something: do you feel the need to prove it? If so, then you’re not completely committed.True commitment is not defensive, but rather is completely confident. At first blush, this may seem strange. After all, if you’re totally committed to something, whether it is an idea or a person or a business or a nation, you should be willing to defend it.

I Can

I Can Do All ThingsThrough Christ Who Strengthens Me". Philippians 4:13------No matter how far you’ve fallen behind, you can choose at any point to start moving forward. Even though nothing else may be going your way, you can decide to get your thoughts and actions going your way. Success is a function of your direction and persistence, not your starting point. When you’re ready to start making a positive difference in your own life and in the lives of others, any starting point will do just fine.

Eyes Wide Closed

It seems so obvious as to almost go without saying: When you look for  something you will find it. How many suburbans or tahoes did you see on the road before you got one? You probably don't remember seeing any. So today try looking for a suburban or a tahoe and you'll see plenty of them. When you seek something you see everything that happens to you from a new perspective. You'll easily find opportunities that would not otherwise be apparent to you. One of the best known bible passages from the book of Matthew Chapter 7 sums up the utter power and simplicity of this concept: Ask, and it shall be given to you; seek, and you shall find, knock, and it shall be opened to you.
